Background: integration into the panorama of the village – the application of the local urban structure and scale – respecting the traditional link of rural architecture and vegetation – creating an inspiring, communicative and friendly environment (all within the construction phases)
The designed solution to the building of the primary school corresponds to the efforts on the fulfilment of the defined background (established on the basis of a more detailed analysis of the site and a survey of the current situation in the primary schools), which define the basic parameters of the building and its integration into the surrounding village. The building mass is thus exposed to the work with the basic building unit, typical of the rural environment, i.e. single-storey mass with a saddle roof. The horizontal layering of these masses corresponds to the structure of the buildings; it takes place mainly on the surface, thus not creating new dominant accents within the community and maintaining the existing village character. The selected concept of the classrooms on the terrain also means direct contact of the children with nature. In contrast, the use of pure contemporary means of expression (materials, morphology, or composition of public spaces) clearly defines the school as the object of the twenty-first century.
